Give the Gift of Service
The Cape Cod Center for Women has many ways for you to join us as a volunteer in our mission of ending intimate partner violence in the lives of women and their children. You can choose client services (training required) or indirect volunteer opportunities based on your interest and time availability. Child care assistant
Assist moms, and center staff with children in shelter or at community support group sites.
Hotline advocate
Answer hotline to women calling in crisis. Provide callers with referral information, emotional support, and conduct intakes for women and children who are candidates for shelter.
Drivers
We always need people to transport clients to medical appointments, job interviews, school night programs, housing appointment interviews and other weekly events, on and off Cape.
Fundraising event volunteers
Assist in the production of fundraising events.
Receptionist
Answer office phone and perform general clerical duties.
Shelter maintenance
Painting, landscaping, general repairs.
Nutritionist
Teach nutrition skills and meal preparation techniques.
Material goods coordinator
Oversee storage units and coordinate incoming and outgoing items including in-kind donations.
Development assistant
Assist the executive director and board of directors with grant writing, special events, developing Web site content or clerical/administrative support.
Board member
Our active board is responsible for ensuring the successful operations of the shelter through governance, fiscal oversight and fundraising. We meet monthly and host several events throughout the year.
